Sugarloaf Lifts
King Pine Quad-- 4 passenger monocable fixed grip quad built in 1988 and manufactured by Borvig a division of Leitner of Europe. King Pine is 3,400 feet long with a vertical of 1,074 feet. This chair moves at a speed of 450 feet per minute and the chairs are 51.7 feet apart. The 122 chairs each weigh 320 lbs. King Pine is moved by a 400 horsepower motor and a capacity of 2,100 skiers per hour. The King Pine Quad located on the East side of the mountain serves intermediate, advanced and expert terrain
Whiffletree Superquad-- 4 passenger monocable high speed detachable quad just built in the summer of 1997. Whiffletree was designed, manufactured and installed by the Salt Lake City, Utah division of C-TEC. This lift is 5,100 feet long with a vertical of 1,100 feet. Whiffletree has a 900 horsepower motor and the lift runs at an average speed of 1,000 feet per minute. The Whiffletree Superquad serves intermediate and beginner terrain, also on the east side of the mountain.
Snubber--A 3 passenger monocable fixed grip chair, manufactured by Borvig and installed in 1985. Snubber is 5,475 feet long with a vertical of 423 feet. This chair moves at a speed of 450 feet per minute and the chairs are 58.5 feet apart. Their are 196 chairs on this lift each weighing 180lbs. Snubber has a 200 horsepower motor and has a capacity of 1,800 skiers per hour. The Snubber Triple Chair begins at the base of the Snowbrook Village complex and continues up through many of Sugarloaf's condos and on mountain homes. The Snubber triple chair serves beginner terrain. You do not need a ski ticket to ride this lift, though you do need skis.
Skidway-- A 2 passenger monocable fixed grip chair, manufactured by Borvig and installed in 1988. Skidway is 1,000 feet long with a vertical of 149 feet. Their are 44 chairs, This lift has a capacity of 1,000 skiers per hour. The Skidway double chair serves The Landing slope, in front of the Base Lodge
Sawduster-- A 2 passenger monocable fixed grip chair manufactured by Stadeli in 1970. In 1981 Sugarloaf bought this lift and had Borvig design it. Sawduster is 1,316 feet long with a 130 foot vertical. This chair moves at a speed of 350 feet per minute and the chairs are 66.7 feet apart. Their are 45 chairs on this lift each weighing 150lbs. Sawduster has a 50 horsepower motor and has a capacity of 630 skiers per hour. The Sawduster double chair serves the Birches slope, Sugarloaf's ski learning area. This lift is located just behind the Sugarloaf Inn. You do not need a ski ticket or skis to ride this lift.
Double Runner East-- A 2 passenger monocable chair designed by and manufactured by Borvig in 1974. DRC East is 3,161 feet long with a vertical of 617 feet. This chair moves at a speed of 450 feet per minute and the chairs are 45 feet apart. Their are 139 chairs on this lift each weighing 140lbs. Double Runner East has a 125 horsepower motor and has a capacity of 1,200 skiers per hour. The Double Runner Chairs run parrallel up the Boardwalk trail. Double Runner East serves Beginner terrain only.
Double Runner West-- A 2 passenger monocable fixed grip chair installed in 1973 by Borvig. DRC West is 4,430 feet long and has a vertical of 1,014 feet. This chair moves at a speed of 420 feet per minute and the chairs are 44.8 feet apart. Their are 190 chairs on this lift each weighing 140lbs. Double Runner West has a 200 horsepower engine and has a capacity of 1,200 skiers per hour. The Double Runner Chairs run parrallel up the Boardwalk trail. Double Runner chair East serves Beginner terrain only, while Double Runner Chair West serves Intermediate and Beginner terrain. Double Runner West serves Intermediate and Beginner terrain.
Skyline--Sugarloaf's most recently installed lift, is a four-passenger, monocable, fixed-grip quad manufactured and installed by Doppelmayr in 2011. Skyline is 3,746 feet long with a vertical rise of 1,457 feet. The lift runs at approximately 500 feet per minute, with 127 chairs, spaced 64 feet apart. Powered by a 400 horsepower electric motor, with a 400 horsepower Cummins diesel backup, Skyline has a capacity of 1,800 skiers per hour.
Bateau-- A 2 passenger monocable fixed grip t-bar installed. This lift was manufactured by Constam and designed by Leitner. The Sheaves were manufactured by Leitner. The Carrier type is a springbox T-bar manufactured by Dopplemayr. The Bateau T-bar is 3,030 feet long and has a vertical of 973 feet. This lift has a capacity of 740 skiers per hour. The Bataeu T-bar runs from the top of the Double Runner West chair to The top of Spillway. You can access the entire mountain from the Spillway x-cut down (A short hike is needed to access anything off of the Spillway x-cut) This lift accesses Expert, Advanced, and Intermediate terrain.
Sugarloaf Superquad--A 4 passenger monocable high speed detachable lift manufactured and installed by C-TEC in 1994. The Sugarloaf Superquad is 6,800 feet long with a vertical of 1,800 feet. This lift moves at an average speed of 1040 feet per minute. The Sugarloaf Superquad has a 900 horsepower motor and has a capacity for 3,000 skiers per hour. The Sugarloaf Superquad was Sugarloafs first High Speed Detachable Quad. This lift accesses Expert, Advanced and Intermediate terrain. The Sugarloaf Superquad also serves some of Sugarloaf's most popular terrain and trails like Tote Road, Kings Landing, Narrow Gauge, Skidder, and Double Bitter.
West Mountain-- A 2 passenger monocable fixed grip lift manufactured by Borvig and installed in 1984. West Mountain is 6,986 feet long and has a vertical of 1,275 feet. This lift moves at 500 feet per minute and the chairs are 50 feet apart. Their are 280 chairs on this lift each weighing 140lbs. West Mountain has a 250 horsepower motor and has a capacity of 1,200 skiers per hour. The West Mountain Chairlift serves the West Mountain condos and the West Mountain trail. This lift serves Beginner and Intermediate terrain.
